India Permits Foreign Investment in National Carrier Air India
 
India has approved 49 percent foreign direct investment in national carrier Air India, increasing the prospect of its successful strategic disinvestment. Till now, foreign airlines were allowed to own up to 49 percent in an Indian airline, with the exception of Air India. “That restriction has now been lifted by the federal Cabinet,” informs a senior government official.

Boeing Finishes 2017 with Record Aircraft Delivery
 
Boeing delivered more commercial airplanes than any manufacturer for the sixth consecutive year and set an industry record with 763 deliveries in 2017. This figure was driven by high output of the market-leading 737 and 787 jets.

Airbus to Open First US West Coast Training Center
 
In a move to further expand its global training capacity, Airbus has acquired the Strategic Simulation Solutions Flight Training Center in Aurora, Colorado. The center primarily supports Frontier Airlines; Airbus plans to at least double capacity in the next few years.
