Posted: 2016 Jan 08

Boeing has announced strong numbers and the achievement of important milestones for 2015, as the airframer makes a confident entry into its centennial year. Numbers released by the airframer showed a record 762 commercial airplanes being delivered, the highest ever recorded by Boeing and 39 more than 21. The airframer would continue to focus in getting aircraft to customers as quickly and as efficiently as possible, said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner.

Orders worth $ 112.4 billion (at list prices) were notched up by Boeing for 768 airplanes and with a 5,795 unfulfilled orders, at current production rates, Boeing has orders for eight years. Balancing the backlog with deliveries will require a strong focus from the company. Important product milestones were also achieved in 2015, mainly; roll-out of the first 737 MAX, completion of the detailed design on the 787-10 and finalisation of firm configuration on the 777X. Boeing also completed the delivery of its 100th 747-8.
