Sale and Lease Back for Ethiopian Airlines three new 787-8 Dreamliners

Global aircraft lessor, AWAS announced that Ethiopian Airlines, will sell its three new three new 787-8 passenger aircraft to AWAS and then lease them back. AWAS and Ethiopian Airlines have a relationship that goes back two decades. Tewolde GebreMariam, Group CEO Ethiopian Airlines remarked on the deal, “AWAS has once again worked with us, listened to our needs, and helped to craft this customized solution to assist with our fleet modernization and expansion plans. These three additional Dreamliners, which have already proven themselves in our fleet with their unmatched combination of operational flexibility, efficiency, and passenger comfort, will allow Ethiopian to achieve our Vision 2025 goal, to be the leading Aviation Group in Africa and a leading global airline.” “Ethiopian is a global leader in demonstrating the strengths and potential of this aircraft type, with its extraordinary range and efficiency allowing airlines to profitably service new city pairs as well as drive existing network optimisation,” said Marlin Dailey, Chief Commercial Officer AWAS.
