Posted: 2016 Jan 18

Airbus announced at its annual press conference, that it had delivered more aircraft than the previous year for the 13th year in a row. The airframer delivered 635 aircraft deliveries to 85 customers, six airliners more than in 2014 and included deliveries of 14 A350s. Airbus has also received net orders for 897 single-aisle jetliners and 139 widebody twins, for a total of 1,036 orders. The airframer also managed to add 1,036 new orders (net) from 53 customers, for 897 single-aisle aircraft and 139 widebodies. By 2015 year-end, Airbus had an order backlog worth almost a trillion dollars at $996.3 billion dollars (at list prices) for 6,787 jetliners. “This commercial and industrial performance unequivocally proves that global demand for our aircraft has remained resilient,” said Fabrice Brégier, Airbus President and CEO. Airbus jetliner deliveries in 2015 were spread across: 491 A320 Family aircraft; 103 A330s; 27 A380s; and 14 A350 XWBs. “In 2015 Airbus has also laid firm foundations for the future, increasing the capability and variety of the aircraft which we can offer to our customers,” said Brégier. Airbus will commence deliveries of the A320neo from next month and Airbus also announced that it had broken-even with its A380 programme, 10 years after the jumbo aircraft made its first flight.
