Final Assembly Underway for China Airlines A350XWB
Posted: 2016 Jan 30

Airbus has announced that the first A350 XWB for China Airlines is on the Airbus Final Assembly Line (FAL), where its main airframe sections are being fitted. The airline is slated to receive its first A350XWB in the third quarter of 2016 and has placed orders for a total of 14 A350-900 twin engine widebody jetliners.

The assembly work now underway at the FAL will involve coming together of the wing-fuselage junction, tailplane and tailcone installation. Following the completion of these tasks the aircraft will travel down the line for completion of structural work, which will be followed by ground testing of mechanical, electrical and avionics systems. Cabin installation work will be final step. China Airlines at present has 24 A330s and six A340s in service on regional and long haul services and will deploy the A350s on its carrier's long-haul routes to Europe, Australia and the United States in addition to a few regional routes.
