Munich to be Lufthansa Group Aviation Training Base
Posted: 2016 Feb 06

Lufthansa Group will amalgamate all its present companies responsible for pilot and cabin crew training, into a single organisation based at Munich. The decision to base all pilot and cabin crew training at Munich, which is the Group’s second-biggest hub, was taken by the Deutsche Lufthansa AG Executive Board in the last week of January.

The new Munich-based Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH will provide a single management for the two currently largely independent companies of Lufthansa Flight Training and Swiss Aviation Training. The Lufthansa Group’s various airlines will continue their training activities at their present locations.

Lufthansa Aviation Training will undertake the overall management of all training activities and the new company should be established by the end of this year. It will be a fully-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Commercial Holding GmbH, with more than 200 airlines in its customer portfolio and 12 training facilities, it will be one of the global leaders in the flight training field.
