Thales AVANT IFE Chosen by Singapore Airlines

Thales InFlyt Experience has been selected by Singapore Airlines to equip its future fleet of medium-haul A350 XWBs with the Thales AVANT Android based In- Flight Entertainment system and Ka-band connectivity solution. The AVANT IFE system will allow the air carrier to constantly introduce the newest and most sought after apps present in the consumermarket, to their passengers. The integrationof Ka-band connectivity to the in-flight system provides access to the fastest airborne internet speeds.
According to Patrice Caine, Chairmanand Chief Executive Officer of Thales,“The investments and efforts that Thales has put in developing its operations in Singapore have today borne fruit with this announcement. Thales will be supplying inflight entertainment and connectivity systems to Singapore Airlines’ brand newfleet of A350 XWB configured for medium haul operations. This is an important announcement for Thales, because of the reputation Singapore Airlines has across the world for its excellence in cabin experience and passenger comfort.” He added, “It also underscores an important milestone in our efforts to becoming number one in IFE. ”The fleet will be equipped with Thales latest AVANT monitors, the most lightweight ever deployed, featuring full high-definition video and integrating Avii, the award winning Thales Touch Passenger Media Unit.
