Indonesian company PT Whitesky Aviation has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Bell for thirty 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters. The helicopters are being acquired for air taxi operations.
Demand for the Bell 505 in the corporate and VIP sectors has been growing and out of a total of 380 LOIs, Bell has received for the 505, more than 130 are from the Asia-Pacific Region alone.
“The Bell 505 allows us to safely, reliably and comfortably transport our customers at a very competitive cost throughout Indonesia, the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia,” said Denon Prawiraatmadja, CEO, PT Whitesky Aviation.
Jakarta based PT Whitesky Aviation, at present has a fleet of six Bell Helicopter aircraft, including three Bell 429s and three Bell 407s.
Matt Hasik, executive vice president, Commercial Business said, “Designed with safety, efficiency and reliability in mind, the Bell 505 offers customers an unmatched combination of value, performance, and features and is uniquely suited to support this emerging market.”
Earlier this year, PT Whitesky Aviation enrolled their fleet in Bell Helicopter’s Customer Advantage Plan, earlier this year.
The new aftermarket parts service plan offers customers a predictable monthly cost, reduced inventory costs and maximized aircraft availability.
The Bell 505 is designed to be safe and easy to fly while remaining affordably priced and has a cruise speed of 125 knots (232 km/h), range of 360 nautical miles (667 km) and useful load of 1,500 pounds (608 kg).
