Ameco has completed its first Sharklet retrofit on an A320 family aircraft. The retrofit work was performed on an Airbus A321 jetliner at Ameco’s Chengdu facility.
The installation of Sharklet wingtip devices was carried out during a scheduled check of the aircraft layover to shorten the turnaround time and the aircraft has since returned to service.
Ameco’s Chengdu Branch holds CAAC approval on A320 family aircraft Sharklet retrofit and commenced offering retrofit services for the wingtip upgrade in 2015.
Ameco’s Beijing Base is also carrying out winglet modifications on three Boeing aircraft belonging to an undisclosed carrier.
The upgrade work commenced in March this year and Ameco has already completed the winglet installation on one aircraft.
