EASA Certification Accorded to HondaJet in Europe
Posted: 2016 May 24

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification has been accorded to the HondaJet light business jet.

There has already been significant interest in Europe for the light business jet and sales in Europe have already commenced.

"We are excited to achieve EASA certification for the HondaJet today. This certification signifies the HondaJet meets the highest European safety standards,” said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino.

“Our customers have shared that this aircraft is not only high performance, but intelligent, fun to fly and very sophisticated. HondaJet deliveries in Europe have begun, and we are excited to see the HondaJet enter service in this important market,” he added.

Type certification for the HondaJet was received from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in December 2015 and aircraft have already been delivered to customers in the U.S., Mexico and Europe.

The aircraft has been priced at US$4.85 million and features a unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration, natural laminar flow wing, and composite fuselage.

The HondaJet can attain a maximum cruise speed of 422 knots (486 mph) and reach an altitude of 43,000 feet.
