Cathay Pacific Airways’ first Airbus A350 XWB aircraft featuring the carrier’s new livery arrived at its home base in Hong Kong on May 30.
The arrival of the A350XWB with Cathay Pacific, makes it the sixth airline to operate the twin engine widebody type. Cathay Pacific’s A350900 will commence long haul operations later this year, but in the initial period will fly on the airline’s regional routes.
Cathay’s A350900s are configured in a three class layout with a total of 280 seats, comprising 38 seats in Business Class with convertible to fully lieflat beds, 28 seats in Premium Economy and 214 seats in the main cabin.
Cathay Pacific has placed orders for a total of 48 A350 XWBs. The order is spread across, 22 A350900s and 26 of the larger A3501000s.
Airbus has received a total of 798 firm orders for the A350 XWB from 42 customers worldwide till date.
