United Airlines Launches Singapore to San Francisco Non-stop Service

United Airlines has launched a nonstop Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between Singapore and its hub at San Francisco International Airport, becoming the first airline to offer nonstop flights between the two cities.
This is also the only nonstop service to the United States from Singapore and will allow passengers to save up to four hours’ journey time each way between the two cities.
Flying times are approximately 15 hours, 30 minutes eastbound and 16 hours, 20 minutes westbound.
The inaugural flight took off from Singapore’s Changi International Airport on June 03. “United is proud to play our part in Singapore aviation history by launching the first-ever nonstop service to San Francisco, and to be the only airline offering nonstop service between Singapore and the United States. It’s a great way to celebrate United’s 30th anniversary of serving the Lion City,” said Marcel Fuchs, United’s Vice President of Atlantic & Pacific Sales.
2016 also marks the 50th anniversary of formal diplomatic ties and between Singapore and the United States.
United Airlines will operate the new service with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, that have a total of 252 seats – 48 in United BusinessFirst, 88 Economy Plus seats and 204 in United Economy. United was the 787 North American launch customer and now has 28 Dreamliners in its fleet.
United BusinessFirst offers a seat that reclines 180 degrees into a 1.98-m lie-flat bed, an on-demand entertainment system with a 39-cm touch-screen monitor and amenities include laptop power, USB ports and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.
United Economy seats feature an adjustable headrest and a 22.8-cm personal seat-back monitor, while United Economy Plus offers up to 7.6cm of extra legroom and is located near the front of the Economy cabin, allowing a swifter exit from the plane upon arrival.
Additional amenities and services designed for Asian customers are available on the Singapore flight, such as: personalized in-flight entertainment options, including Chinese-language services and Asian-style cuisine.
