RUAG Completes 96 Month Check on Challenger 850 Business Jet
Posted: 2016 Jun 24
RUAG Aviation has successfully completed a heavy maintenance check on a Bombardier Challenger 850, belonging to a Russian operator.
The MRO work was performed on schedule, following which the aircraft was delivered to the customer by RUAG Aviation at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
The work was performed on the aircraft between 1 February and 11 April 2016.
“This 96-month check was an achievement for us on several levels,” states Andre Ebach, General Manager Business Jets at Oberpfaffenhofen.
“The customer, a Russian operator, required strict adherence to the delivery date and full on-site representation throughout the entire project…. This aircraft also represents our first official act in using our unlimited certification rights for Russian registered civil aircraft,” adds Andre.
There were a number of issues which could have resulted in a delay in the ultimate delivery of the aircraft such as irregularities on structural elements, unique and complex cabin interior features, and out-of-production cabin interior replacement parts. However, all required structural and cabin work was completed on schedule and on time.
RUAG Aviation recently received unlimited approvals from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency for Russian registered civil aircraft certification.
