The first ever certification of a foreign heavy class helicopter by Russia has been accomplished by Airbus Helicopters for its H225 rotorcraft. Announcing the certification of the H225 by Russian Certification Authorities, Emeric Lhomme, General Manager of Airbus Helicopters Vostok said, “Successful certification of H225 by the Interstate Aviation Committee gives Russian customers an opportunity to start operations of the efficient and reliable rotorcraft in the nearest future. Ten years of success on the global oil and gas market and positive feedback from hundreds of customers worldwide prove that this helicopter is the best choice for challenging missions in severe weather conditions.”

The grant of Russian certification for the H225 opens up the market for the helicopter in countries such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. With the ability to carry 19 passengers, a safe and proven de-icing system and the longest range in its class, the H225 is well suited for the region. The type was also displayed in August this year at the at the MAKS airshow in Moscow.
