Delta TechOps to Maintain Virgin Australia CFM56-7B Fleet

Delta TechOps has signed an exclusive 13-year agreement with Virgin Australia to perform maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the airline’s fleet of CFM56-7B engines. The new agreement will enhance Virgin Australia’s strategic alliance with Delta Air Lines and allow both carriers to collaborate on aircraft engineering, reliability and other maintenance-related activities.

“Delta TechOps provides a unique value proposition as the maintenance arm of the most reliable global U.S. airline,” said Don Mitacek, Delta Air Lines’ Senior Vice President Technical Operations. “We wake up each morning with a passion to reduce turn-around time, lower engine overhaul costs and provide the highest quality product to our customers. We look forward to growing our relationship with Virgin Australia.”

Virgin Australia which launched commercial operations in 2000 is the second largest airline in Australia and operates a 140 aircraft fleet that includes Airbus A330, Airbus A320, Boeing 777, Boeing 737, Embraer 190, ATR-72 turboprop and Fokker 100 aircraft.
