Narita International Airport and Rockwell Collins Enhance Partnership
Posted: 2016 Jan 14

Rockwell Collins has announced that Japan’s Narita International Airport (NRT), which is the primary airport servicing Greater Tokyo, has renewed its existing contract for Rockwell Collins’ ARINC vMUSE and ARINC SelfServ Kiosks in Terminal 2. NRT’s new Low Cost Carrier (LCC) Terminal 3, which opened earlier this year, will also deploy ARINC vMUSE and digital signage solutions. The deal which further increases the deployment of ARINC common use passenger processing and ARINC self-service kiosks throughout the airport, will allow faster check-in times for travellers at the airport. “Narita is Japan’s second busiest airport, serving 35.5 million travellers each year,” said Paul Hickox, head of Airport Systems Sales for Rockwell Collins.“Passengers using these critical systems will have an easier travel experience and airports will have more efficient operations.”

NRT will also make greater use of Rockwell Collins’ ARINC Managed Services (AMS) to include IT support for the ARINC passenger processing systems and related technologies. With this expansion, Rockwell Collins now provides IT managed services for the airport’s three main terminals.NRT which is one of the busiest airports in Japan has been a Rockwell Collins customer since 2006 and was one of the first to implement self-service for passengers on a large scale.
