Martial arts movie star, Jackie Chan has taken delivery of an Embraer Legacy 500, becoming the first customer in China to take delivery of the new business jet type. This is the second Embraer aircraft for Jackie Chan, who had earlier taken delivery of a Legacy 650 in 2012, for which he was the launch customer from China. He is also Embraer’s brand ambassador.
“I’m so thrilled to receive this Legacy 500, a state-of-art executive jet,” said Jackie Chan. “In the past few years, my Legacy 650 has brought me fantastic traveling experiences and great convenience, allowing me to do more acting and philanthropic works around the world.”
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) granted the Validation of Type Certificate for the Legacy 500 in July 2015. The Legacy 500 is capable of flying at 45,000 feet and has a range of 5,788 km (3,125 nautical miles) with four passengers, including NBAA IFR fuel reserves. It is the first midsize business jet with digital flight controls, based on fly-by-wire technology, featuring side sticks.
