UTC Aerospace Systems Selected by Small Planet Airlines Interior LED Cabin Lighting

UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp, has been selected by Small Planet Airlines to retrofit their Airbus A320 aircraft fleet with LED cabin wash lighting, replacing the existing fluorescent lighting systems on the type. 
"Our LED lighting system continues to be an optimal solution for customers like Small Planet Airlines," said Mike Wagner, senior director of Aftermarket for the UTC Aerospace Systems Interiors business unit.
"Not only does the LED lighting system alter cabin ambience to dramatically enhance passenger experience, but it is also more durable, reliable and cost effective for airlines." 
UTC Aerospace Systems' LED wash lights provide a 'plug and play' cabin lighting enhancement solution and have been installed as part of Small Planet Airlines' cabin refreshment program. 
"This cabin upgrade program was on a short timetable but UTC Aerospace Systems delivered on their promises with their 'plug and play' lighting system, providing a fast installation retrofit, with no additional aircraft changes required, while giving a dramatic and dynamic refresh to our cabin environment," said Erich Ceru, chief technical officer for Small Planet Airlines.
The LED wash lights can be retrofitted without impact to the existing cabin management system or aircraft wiring.
The benefits of the LED system are increased reliability and lower power consumption and weight of the LED devices.
