Dassaultís Falcon 8X Makes Maiden China Appearance

The Falcon 8X ultra long range trijet, Dassault Aviation’s new flagship, has made its maiden appearance in China at the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai. The exhibit, which opened at Shanghai’s Hongqiao Airport on April 12, features the first 8X, fitted with a fully equipped interior, aircraft s/n 03.
 
S/n 03 is in the middle of a four week 55,000 nm (101,860 km) global proving campaign that will take the aircraft through 65 different missions. The campaign is designed to simulate the most extreme real world conditions customers might expect to face during their aircraft’s operational life, fromshort hops to ultra-long range flights. 
 
Particular emphasis is being placed on the performance ofcabin equipment and functionalities and high speed communication systems during long, intercontinental flights.Nearly completed all certification testrequirements and more than 650 flight hours have been accumulated till date over 325 flights by the three aircraft in the Falcon 8X flight test program have. 
 
Six airplanes are now in completion in Little Rock and Falcon 8X s/n 21 recently entered final assembly in Bordeaux-Merignac. FAA and EASA certification is expected by midyear and entry into service in the second half of 2016.
