RUAG Undertakes Simultaneous C-checks on Falcon 2000 Classic and Falcon 900B
Posted: 2016 May 09

Swiss aviation firm RUAG will soon complete an ambitious MRO effort that has seen the company perform two simultaneous C-check inspections on a VIP customer Falcon 2000 Classic and a government-operated Falcon 900B. The project to perform C-checks on two platforms belonging to two different customers at the same time, is expected to require a total of between 1,000 and 2,500 working hours, while effecting an exceptional downtime of just six weeks.one aircraft has already been successfully delivered on time and on schedule.“To create the extra capacity required for this major project, RUAG Aviation in Geneva introduced double shifts from Monday to Thursday. This kept the downtime to a minimum while simultaneously ensuring RUAG’s consistent high level of quality. During routine maintenance checks, RUAG Aviation also offers its customers the opportunity to order and approve additional services, such as cabin refurbishment, cockpit upgrades or painting. This one-stop shop service can save customers considerable time and money, while keeping their aircraft in top condition,” notes the responsible General Manager Site Geneva at RUAG Aviation.

The Falcon 2000 Classic was built in 2003 and as part of its second check also required an overhaul of its landing gear, while the Falcon 900B which was built in 1997 was on its third C-check, hence requiring aninspection of the landing gear.
