First International Journey Completed by 737 MAX
Posted: 2016 May 09

Boeing’s 737 MAX 8 has successfully completed its first international trop for high altitude flight testing in La Paz, Bolivia. The MAX’s capability to take off and land at high altitudes from the airport’s 13,300-foot (4,050-meter) altitude runway was during the trials.

“The engines and other systems performed well, as expected, under extreme conditions. That’s exactly what we wanted to see,” said Keith Leverkuhn, vice president and general manager of the 737 MAX program, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The fourth and final 737 MAX test airplane is expected to make its maiden flight in the coming weeks. The aircraft will join the three other test airplanes that have cumulatively completed more than a 100 test flights till date. Delivery of the first 737 MAX to a customer is slated for the fourth quarter of 2017.
