NetJets Europe has unveiled its first Cessna Citation Latitude demonstrator aircraft, at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) being held in Geneva.
The aircraft made its inaugural flight from London Farnborough to Geneva on Monday.
The delivery of the Latitude marks a period of growth for the company which had increased its market share last year.
Growth has remained strong in 2016 for NetJets Europe, with a 4.9 per cent increase in flights for Q1 YoY.
There has also been an increase in passengers flown during the same period to 8.2 per cent.
The company also announced a new partnership with the London Heliport, earlier this month, allowing access to a key piece of infrastructure for those flying privately in the UK and a prime link between the city and surrounding airports that NetJets Europe serves.
“NetJets was announced as the largest customer for the Citation Latitude back in 2012. We now have 25 firm orders planned and an additional 125 optional orders available. These deliveries alone are worth US$2.3 billion (€2 billion), cementing our position as a market leader in fractional ownership business aviation and reinforcing our commitment to continue investing for our clients,” said Mark Wilson, President NetJets Europe.
He also added, “In addition to the demonstrator aircraft, NetJets Europe will receive three aircraft later this year. The Latitude is proving to be a very popular choice of mid-size aircraft for our customers, and we are selling shares at a fast rate, reflecting our increasing market share in Europe”
The Berkshire Hathaway-affiliated company, says that its Latitude aircraft will be been fully customised from the ground-up, allowing owners an exclusive opportunity to experience cabin interiors and technical specifications only to be found on NetJets’ aircraft.
The Citation Latitude jet which falls in the mid-size category also features state of the art on board technology, specified by NetJets, such as Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband, a Satellite based Wi-Fi system accessible across the globe. The in-flight entertainment system which organizes, manages & delivers in-flight data, entertainment & cabin management is manufactured by Gogo.
The unique NetJets Entertainment app, will allow owners to access to an entire library of content via iPads on board.
