Textron Aviation Brings Strong Line-Up to EBACE
Posted: 2016 May 23
Textron Aviation is putting up a strong show at the latest edition of EBACE with a display featuring eight business jet and turboprop aircraft from Cessna and Beechcraft.
One of the highlights of the Textron display at EBACE this year, is the Cessna Citation Latitude, making only its second appearance at EBACE. In addition to the Latitude, the Textron Aviation static display includes the Citation Sovereign+, Citation CJ4, Citation CJ3+ and the Citation M2.
“2016 is off to a strong start, with European jet and turboprop sales up 20 percent from the first quarter in 2015,” said Kriya Shortt, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing. “In addition to the Latitude, we have also achieved EASA certification on all of our King Air turboprops and are experiencing great market acceptance of these products. We are excited to expand our European customer base as we continue to bring innovative solutions and service offerings to market.”
The mid-size Citation Latitude received EASA certification earlier this year. 23 aircraft have already been delivered to customers around the world in seven months. The aircraft on display at the show features an all-new redesigned standard interior, with comfort and interior appointments approaching the new Citation Longitude.
The Latitude allows customers non-stop access to key destinations throughout the continent as well as North Africa and the Middle East. The Latitude was recently certified to operate at La Mole Airport in St. Tropez, France. The aircraft not only offers class-leading short-field performance but also has the ability to carry a significant payload.
Textron Aviation offerings have a strong presence in the region and in excess of 800 Cessna Citations are in operation throughout Europe.
Beechcraft is another Textron Aviation company that has a strong presence in Europe and more than 500 King Airs and Caravans are operating in Europe. Turboprop aircraft belonging to both Beechcraft and Cessna are popular in Europe, especially the Beechcraft King Air and Cessna Grand Caravan EX platforms.
Both types are on display at EBACE.
“With EASA anticipated to ease regulation on single engine commercial operations, we are confident the proven Caravan platform and our newly-announced single engine turboprop will provide European commercial operators a best-in-class solution for both passenger and freight operations,” said Shortt.
The Beechcraft King Air 250 which made its debut last year at EBACE featured new Pro Line Fusion avionics system and cabin upgrades.
Beechcraft has delivered 22 Fusion-equipped aircraft and the latest update for Fusion-equipped King Air 350i/ERs and 250s is the grant of EASA certification, paving way for deliveries throughout Europe.
