A three-month testing period of inflight wireless internet access on one of Virgin Australia’s Boeing 737-800 jetliners has been commenced by the Australian carrier.
During the test period of three months, passengers onboard the wi-fi enabled aircraft will have access to the wi-fi free of charge and enjoy access to popular streaming services Netflix, Stan and Pandora ontheir devices while in the air.
“We’re looking forward to receiving guest feedback about our inflight connectivity over the next three months to ensure we are able to offer the best possible service in the sky,” said John Thomas, Group Executive Virgin Australia Airlines.
The airline will finalise its business model after taking account customer feedback and the results obtained over the course of the testing period.
Virgin Australia has partnered with leading inflight connectivity provider Gogo and Australia’s leading satellite provider Optus to provide customers with inflight wi-fi.
