BAE Systems to Convert M88 Recovery Vehicles for U.S. Army

BAE Systems has been awarded with a U.S. Army contract to convert 36 M88A1 recovery vehicles to the M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift Evacuation Systems (HERCULES) configuration. The contract modification is worth US$ 109.7 million and will allow the M88A2s to recover the Army’s heaviest vehicles, such as tanks, without the assistance of another vehicle.

Elbit to Supply Advanced Mobile Tactical SDR Systems to Western European Country

Elbit Systems has won a contract worth an estimated US$ 20 million for the supply of its new and advanced E-LynX Software Defined Radios ("SDR") to a Western European country. Deliveries of the advanced SDR systems will take place over a period of three years.

Harris Corporation Wins Australian Battlespace Communication System Tender

An Australian Defence Force tender for an integrated battlespace communication system has been won by Harris Corporation, which emerged as the preferred tenderer. Harris will provide an integrated tactical communications network for voice and data services to tactical forces over line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight applications to the Commonwealth of Australia for the Land 2072 Phase 3 program.

DCNS Bags Australian SEA 1000 Future Submarine Program

DCNS has been selected by the Australian Government as its preferred international partner for the design of 12 future submarines for the Royal Australian Navy. The new generation submarines will be constructed at the Adelaide shipyard. The Future Submarine project, which entails an investment of $50 billion  is the largest and most complex defence acquisition Australia has ever undertaken and  will directly sustain around 1,100 Australian jobs and a further 1,700 Australian jobs through the supply chain.

Second 767-2C for KC-46 Program Makes Maiden Flight

The fourth and final flight test aircraft destined for the KC-46 Pegasus fleet has completed its maiden flight and will now join the flight test program. This 767-2C aircraft, known as EMD-3, is a KC-46 without the aerial refueling system installed and will be used to conduct environmental control system testing, including hot day/cold day testing and smoke penetration testing.
