Raytheon Receives $291 million US Navy Contract for AIM-9X

Raytheon has received a US$ 291 million contract award from the U.S. Navy for the AIM-9X Sidewinder advanced infrared-tracking, short-range, air-to-air and surface-to-air missile. Raytheon has been awarded an All Up Round Tactical Full Rate Production Lot 16 of the Block II missiles for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army and the governments of Japan, Norway and Taiwan.

Raytheon to Demonstrate Advanced Aerial Decoy-Jammer

Raytheon will demonstrate upgraded electronic warfare capabilities for the Miniature Air Launched Decoy-Jammer missile to the U.S. Air Force as part of a US$ 34.8 million contract award. The new version of the MALD-J, called MALD-X, will be developed and completed within 24 months, culminating in two flight demonstrations.

2,200th A400M Propeller Blade Produced by UTC Aerospace Systems

United Technologies Corp subsidiary, UTC Aerospace Systems and its Actuation & Propeller Systems (APS) business have produced the 2,200th A400M propeller blade. The blade is part of the advanced propeller system on the A400M, that features eight blades and handles twice the amount of power of any existing in-service propeller system in the western world. Driven by an 11,000-horsepower engine, the propeller system can operate at nearly 90 percent efficiency at high cruise speeds and is installed on the A400M four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft built by Airbus Defence and Space.

Saab Receives Order for ANZAC Class Combat System Sustainment

Saab has received an order worth approximately AUD 37 million (approximately SEK 248 million), from the Australian Government for sustainment of Australia's ANZAC class frigate combat systems. Under the long-term asset management agreement, which runs from July 2016 until December 2017, Saab Australia, which is part of Saab business area Surveillance, will provide on-going engineering support services in both Western Australia and South Australia.

Turkish Missile Specialist to Integrate ATGM and LGB Weapons on Airbus C295W

Airbus Defense & Space and Roketsan will work together for integration of a range of weapon systems on the C295W transport and surveillance aircraft. A MOU to this effect was signed at the Farnborough International Air Show presently underway. The two companies will collaborate for the design, integration and initial testing of a variety of weapons from Roketsan's existing product range, such as the laser-guided missile "CIRIT", the laser-guided long range anti-tank missile "LUMTAS" and laser-guided bomb "TEBER".
