F-15 Makes Maiden Flight with New Advanced High-Speed Mission Computer

A Boeing F-15 fighter aircraft completed its maiden flight with the Advanced Display Core Processor II at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, on July 8. The flight was recorded aboard an F-15E Strike Eagle and lasted two hours and 53 minutes."ADCP II brings next generation high-speed computing to the F-15 enterprise," said Lt. Col. Michael Casey, the chief of the F-15 avionics branch at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center here. "This capability allows pilots to prosecute targets with ironclad precision and sets the foundation for future growth."

Sukhoi Business Jet Delivered to Royal Thai Air Force

The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), has taken delivery of two Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ) aircraft built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC), concluding an order for the aircraft that was placed in 2014. The two aircraft are the first SBJs to be acquired by an overseas customer and the aircraft will be used to undertake VIP transportation duties for Thai top officials and government leaders as well as to the High Command of Thailand.

British Army to Acquire 50 Apache AH-64E Helicopters

The British Army will receive 50 new generation AH‑64E Apache attack helicopters from Boeing as part of a US$ 2.3 billion deal announced by the U.K. Ministry of Defence. The new helicopters will be flown by Army Air Corps pilots from the Joint Helicopter Command and are far more capable than their predecessors which are operated by the British Army. The Apache is built by Boeing at its facility in Mesa, Arizona and the rotorcraft are being purchased via a Foreign Military Sale with the United States Government.

UK MOD Confirms Boeing P-8 A Order

The UK Ministry of Defence confirmed the deal to purchase nine P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA), for the Royal Air Force (RAF) at the recently concluded Farnborough Air Show. The long range maritime patrol aircraft will be based at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland.  In addition to protecting the UK’s nuclear deterrent and its two new aircraft carriers, the aircraft will also be able to locate and track hostile submarines, and enhance the UK’s maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) capability.
