BAE Systems Offers New 7.62 mm HP Ammunition for Export

BAE Systems has announced that its latest 7.62mm High Performance (HP) round, is now available for export to other approved military customers. The 7.62 mm HP round was previously only made available to the British Armed Forces, who have been using it since 2015. The rounds have demonstrated the ability to defeat protection commonly used in light vehicles and aircraft, at approximately double the range of standard 7.62mm ‘Ball’ ammunition, during trials conducted at BAE System’s testing facilities.

Weaponized Polish-built BLACK HAWK Helicopter on Display at Anaconda

Sikorsky is displaying a weaponized version of its Polish-built S-70i BLACK HAWK helicopter at the ‘Anaconda 2016’ NATO exercises in Drawsko Pomorskie, Poland this week. The PZL Mielec-built BLACK HAWK helicopter’s appearance in Drawsko Pomorskie comes ahead of its air show debut at the Farnborough International Air Show in Hampshire, U.K. from July 11-17.

Raytheon UK and MILREM Showcase Autonomous IED Detection Systems

Raytheon UK and Milrem have unveiling a new IED detection platform at the ongoing Eurosatory, defence industry exhibition in Paris, featuring the THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System), an unmanned vehicle developed by Milrem as the platform and Raytheon UK’s GroundEye sensor system.

Javelin Missile Demonstrates Extended Range Ability

The Javelin compact, lightweight missile has successfully demonstrated its ability to engage targets beyond its present 2.5 km range requirement during a series of ground vehicle launch tests, conducted for the U.K. Army at the Salisbury Plain Training Area in Wiltshire, England. The live-fire tests demonstrated the Javelin's capability to engage targets from increased standoff distances on various platforms.
