First Littoral Combat Ship Deploys Upgraded Fire Scout MCS

Raytheon and the U.S. Navy's Naval Air Systems Command are deploying an advanced mission control hardware and software for the MQ-8 Fire Scout, unmanned helicopter, aboard the Littoral Combat Ship USS Coronado. The USS Coronado is one of the Navy's newest Littoral Combat Ships, designed to operate close to shorelines and the deployment of the Fire Scout aboard the ship extends the fleet's situational awareness.

Indian Navy Participates at ADMM Plus Exercise at Brunei and Singapore

The Indian Navy is participating in the ADMM Plus (ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus) Exercise on Maritime Security and Counter Terrorism (Ex MS & CT) from 1 to 9 May. INS Airavat arrived in Brunei on 1 May for the exercises and the Landing Ship Tank (Large), was indigenously designed and built at GRSE in Kolkata.

Cobham Bags Airborne ISR Electronics Orders worth US$5.5 Million

Cobham announced last month that it had recently received a series of orders for electronic warfare (EW) components and subsystems for an airborne electronic intelligence (ELINT) platform, worth approximately US$5.5 million. The electronics have been integrated by Cobham into a sensor suite that provides intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capability.

Korean Industry Delivers First Parts for Nation's Global Hawks

Northrop Grumman Corporation has announced the delivery of the first two component orders on the Republic of Korea Global Hawk Program by Korean defence industry. The build-to-print aerospace grade precision machine parts were delivered by Korean Jig and Fixture (KJF) for the first Republic of Korea Global Hawk. This is in addition to the wire harness, delivered by Firstec Company earlier in the year.
