RADA Radar Systems Operational Along Southern Border of Israel

Israeli tactical land radars manufacturer, RADA Electronic Industries, has announced the deployment of its radar systems along Israel’s border with the Gaza strip. Connected to the National Alert System, the new systems are now operational and providing life-saving warnings about short range threats – including mortar shells, rockets and other aerial threats – to communities adjacent to Israel’s southern border.

CDR Completed for Northrop Grumman, US Navy Bomb Disposal Robot Programme

Northrop Grumman has announced the successful completion of the Critical Design Review (CDR) for increment 1 of the Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robotic System (AEODRS) program under development for the U.S. Navy. The CDR is an important milestone for the programme and determined that Northrop Grumman's final design for the Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robotic System dismounted operations variant satisfies cost, schedule and mission performance requirements and demonstrates the maturity for proceeding with system fabrication, assembly, integration and test.

Elbit Showcases SupervisIR Wide Area Persistent Surveillance System at Eurosatory

Elbit Systems has introduced its SupervisIR, infrared wide area persistent ISTAR system, Eurosatory 2016. The system allows for 24/7 surveillance with excellent night capabilities and is ideally suited for border patrol, perimeter security, surveillance and counter-surveillance operations. The new ISTAR system is highly effective at detecting, tracking, and displaying visual motion imagery of moving air, ground and sea targets.

BlueBird Showcases ThunderB Small Tactical UAS at Eurosatory

Israeli Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) manufacturer, BlueBird Aero Systems showcased its ThunderB, a small tactical UAS with endurance exceeding 24 hours and extended control range of 150 km, at Eurosatory 2016. Since its recent upgrade, ThunderB UAS has attracted significant international attention, has already been sold to customers in Europe and Asia, and is undergoing evaluation by a number of additional customers.

Azerbaijan Seeks Final Assembly of AN−178 Transport

Russian airframer Antonov and Azerbaijan based firm AZAL JSC are seeking further cooperation with regards to the       AN−178 multipurpose transport programme. The government of Azerbaijan has expressed its interest to commence
AN−178 production in the country. It was the launch customer for the type in 2015.
