Boeing Enhances P-8A Maintenance Training Facility

The U.S. Navy’s new P-8 Maintenance Training Facility has received a suite of realistic, interactive training systems from Boeing. Based at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, the P-8 Maintenance Training Facility provides immersive training for those maintaining P-8A Poseidon aircraft around the world. Interactive high-fidelity simulations based on actual mission systems software are provided at the facility.

Austal to Deliver New Australian Pacific Patrol Boats

Austal Ships Pty Ltd has been awarded a $280 million contract by the Australian Ministry of Defence to manufacture and support up to 21 steel-hulled vessels as part of Australia’s new Pacific Maritime Security Program. The new Australian built boats will replace the existing Pacific Patrol Boat fleet, which are approaching the end of their service lives.

BAE Systems to Pursue M777 Howitzer Opportunities in the UAE

BAE Systems and Emirates Defense Technology (EDT) have signed a teaming agreement to pursue opportunities for the towed M777 155mm Lightweight Howitzer in the UAE. The two companies will also further explore the development of a self-propelled 155mm artillery system for the Middle-Eastern country.

Largest ADMM-Plus Exercise Sees Participation from 40 Special Forces Teams

This year’s ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM)-Plus Maritime Security (MS) and Counter-Terrorism (CT) Exercise saw the participation of approximately 3500 personnel, 18 naval vessels, 25 aircraft and 40 Special Forces teams. Singapore’s Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen visited the ADMM-Plus MS and CT Exercise to observe an exercise where the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was part of the Special Forces Task Group which seized control of a simulated terrorist stronghold at a training area near Lim Chu Kang.

Raytheon Receives Contract for Next Generation Targeting System
