Lockheed Martin and Daewoo Shipbuilding Partner for Multi-Mission Combat Ship

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has signed a comprehensive teaming agreement with Lockheed Martin to partner on the Multi-mission Combat Ship (MCS), which is based on a DSME hull design and intended for the corvette market.

Maritime Security (MS) and Counter-Terrorism (CT) exercise, co-hosted by Singapore and Brunei

More than 3,500 personnel, 18 ships, 25 aircraft and 40 Special Forces teams are participating in Maritime Security (MS) and Counter-Terrorism (CT) exercise, jointly hosted by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) under the ambit of the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM)-Plus. The exercise is one of the region's largest multinational exercises ever.

Raytheon to Increase Deliveries of UAS

Raytheon has announced an increase in deliveries of its small unmanned aircraft systems, to meet warfighter demands and has also formed a new UAS directorate within the Advanced Missile Systems product line in Tucson, Arizona, that combines expertise in small UAS airframe and integration, with mission payload, command and control, and technology from across the company.

David L. Goldfein to be 21st U.S Air Force Chief of Staff

The U.S Air Force Vice Chief of Staff General. David L. Goldfein has been nominated to be the 21st chief of staff of the Air Force, succeeding General. Mark A. Welsh III, who has served in the position since 2012.General Goldfein currently serves as the vice chief of staff, where he presides over the Air Staff and serves as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Requirements Oversight Council and Deputy Advisory Working Group.

Harris Corporation Receives US$88 Million Airborne Jammer Contract

The U.S. Navy has awarded a US$88 million order for the supply of electronic jammers for U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet aircraft to Harris Corporation. Harris will manufacture and deliver 48 on-board electronic warfare jamming systems for the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) program as per a contract modification announced in July 2015; Deliveries are expected to be completed by December 2018.
