BEL Unveils BELCOMNET Communication Network

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has unveiled its new communication network, BELCOMNET, for the Defence/Paramilitary forces and export market, today at Aero India 2017.
 
BELCOMNET, designed and developed by BEL, is a V/UHF secure voice communication network with user specific encryption algorithm. The network facilitates exchange of secure voice through repeaters that are dispersed geographically. This enables connecting two or more dispersed locations for day-to-day communications. For example,
brigades in field and headquarters across towns can be connected using IPv6 features. It also facilitates broadcasting to all sites, in case of an emergency or a crisis.

BEL Receives Offset Contract from ELOP Israel

Indian defence electronics public sector undertaking (PSU) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has received an offset contract from Israeli defence firm Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd (ELOP), for the supply of 10 units of the Compact Multi-Purpose Advanced Stabilised System CoMPASS System, which is an EO/IR payload sensor used on the Indian Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) which is built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Thales to Make STARStreak Missile Systems in India

Thales has decided to transfer the STARStreak missile technology to India. 
 
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Thales and India’s state-owned Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) on the sidelines of the ongoing AeroIndia show to assess the opportunity for the transfer of technology of the STARStreak missile capability to India with the support of the U.K. government.

Textron Tests G-CLAW Precision Guided Glide Weapon

Textron Systems Weapon & Sensor Systems, a unit of Textron Inc., has successful tested the G-CLAW precision guided glide weapon, against moving targets. 
 
The flight tests, which occurred in October 2016, took place at Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona.
