F-35 Programme Progressing Well in All Aspects

The F-35 Lightning II program is on track and demonstrating "continuing progress in all aspects," the U.S. undersecretary of defence for acquisition, technology and logistics, Frank Kendall announced in the last week of May at a conference call with reporters after an F-35 chief executive officer roundtable meeting in Phoenix.

GA-ASI Augments RPA Training Academy in North Dakota

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA‑ASI), has announced that it will further augment the capability of its new RPA Training Academy located in North Dakota, U.S.A. GA-ASI will support the UND Aerospace Foundation located at the University of North Dakota (UND) in expanding the use of RPAs for commercial applications. GA-ASI also will expand its current worldwide partnership with CAE.

First KC-46 Tankers to Arrive at U.S. Bases by Late 2017

The U.S.A.F has announced that the first batch of Boeing KC-46 Pegasus airborne tankers will now arrive at their first basing locations by late summer or early fall 2017. The new-generation tanker being built by Boeing was originally scheduled for a spring 2017 arrival at its first formal training unit location, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, and the first active duty-led Pegasus main operating base, McConnell AFB, Kansas.

Raytheon and UVision Team Up for Loitering Airborne Solutions

Raytheon and UVision have announced a partnership that will see the two firms work together on small, loitering airborne solutions as part of a teaming agreement signed by the two companies. As part of the agreement, Israeli firm UVision’s Hero-30 remotely-operated lethal loitering airborne system will be adapted by Raytheon for U.S. military requirements.

French Frigate Makes Port of Call in Bangladesh

The French Naval frigate, Aconite which is currently deployed in the Bay of Bengal, made a stop from 10 to 15 May in Chittagong, Bangladesh. This was the first French naval vessel to make a call at Chittagong port for ten years
