Two Russian warships have been escorted by the Royal Navy frigate HMS Sutherland through the EnglishChannel.
The two Russian ships were located by the HMS Sutherland in the early hoursof 14 Apr, as they sailed through the North Seatowards the Dover Straits.
The two Russian warships were identified as the Steregushchiy-class corvettes, Soobrazitelny and Boiky.
The 2 ships were later joined by a Russian support tanker and anocean-going tug.
‘HMS Sutherland is carefully marking these Russian ships as they pass close to UK waters,’ said Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon.
