Indian Navy Receives First Indian Made LRSAM Missile

The delivery of the first Indian made Long-Range Surface to Air Missile (LRSAM) has been completed. India’s Minister of Defence Arun Jaitley, was present on the occasion.
 
The missile which was manufactured in India was delivered to India's Minister of Defense Mr. Arun Jaitley, who awarded it to the Indian Navy.
 
The LRSAM air & missile defence system has been jointly developed by India's Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
 
It will be installed on new warships of the Indian Navy. 
 
“The delivery of the first missile manufactured in India to India's defence arms is a technological dream come true. It is another exciting step in the many-years collaboration between IAI, India's government, India's DRDO and other partners and one that reflects a technological and engineering effort of the highest level,” said Boaz Levi, IAI's Executive Vice President and General Manager of Systems, Missiles & Space Group was present in India for the event. 
 
IAI and RAFAEL from Israel together with Indian state owned defence firm Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) have established an Indian production line for the LRSAM programme.
 
Indian made assemblies are integrated with Israeli made assemblies on the production line to deliver an operational missile. 
 
The LRSAM is operational with the India's Air Force, Navy and the Israel Defense Forces.
 
It is also slated to enter service with the Indian Army.
