Front Cover Picture: Our cover image for this issue of Asian Defence & Diplomacy is the venerable Xian Aircraft Industry Company (XAC) H-6 bomber of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The H-6 is the Chinese version of the 1950s vintage Soviet Tupolev Tu-16 bomber. The H-6 performs multiple roles for both the PLAAF and PLA Navy Aviation, including bomber, reconnaissance and tanker amongst others. Still in production at XAC and continuously upgraded, the latest version of the H-6 will carry the air launched version of the DH-10 cruise missile system. (Photo: via SVT)
