Northrop Wins Contract to Support Japan’s E-2C Hawkeye

The U.S. Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman a contract for identifying friend or foe technology compatible with the E-2C Hawkeye. The deal is valued at more than $51.8 million.

As per the contract, Northrop Grumman will provide services for the delivery, installation and testing of one Japan E-2C Hawkeye compatible AN/APX-122A Mode 5/S interrogator and transponder.  The contract also provides non-recurring engineering for the developmental laboratory work, integration laboratory testing, software modifications, along with other associated hardware.

Work on the contract will occur in multiple locations across the United States and at Naval Air Station Misawa in Japan. It is expected to be complete by December 2020.
