China has commissioned a new fighter type into the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) in the new J-20 stealth fighter.
The impressive looking J-20 made its maiden flight in 2011 and deliveries of the advanced combat type commenced in March 2017.
Training has been underway since the first aircraft delivery.
It is expected that the aircraft will receive its Final Operational Clearance (FOC) by 2020.
While doubts remain on the true capability of the aircraft, China’s defence industry appears to have mastered the production capabilities required to manufactured an advanced fighter aircraft.
