UAVOS Brings Out Increased Take-Off Weight UVH-290E VSTOL Drone

: Feb 27, 2018 - : 3:59 am

Unmanned systems manufacturer UAVOS showcased a new modification to its multi-purpose unmanned UVH-290E helicopter, with an enhanced 87 kg take-off weight in ‘Tractor’ configuration at the recently concluded UMEX show in Abu Dhabi.

The UVH-290E is fitted with a gasoline rotary engine and now has an improved telemetry system which allows basic parameters of the aircraft to be controlled in flight.

“We strengthened the unmanned vehicle with completely aluminium framework and have considered the experience of commercial use of helicopters with different target payloads. The response to this new variant has been encouraging at this show as it has an automatic starter generator and an easily assembled structure,” company officials tell Asian Defence Technology.

The petrol fueled UAV has a claimed range of 400 km and a practical ceiling of 6800 ft.

Endurance with a 5kg payload is 5 hours, though it has a max cargo wright of 20kg.

The upgraded UVH-290E also carries a 4K day camera, thermal camera and laser rangefinder payload, which is fitted on a 3.6 kg gyro-stabilized suspension.
